anything for a canon girl! ..ok here are the steps…
1. make a bonfire >_>
…[ in case you lost the manual, http://tinyurl.com/a95manual ]
2. look at your camera dial… you’ll notice an Av mode and a Tv mode… Tv mode is what you need, the shutter priority
3. turn your camera on… then dial Tv
4. turn off the flash
5. using the left/right button, set the shutter time… start with 2 seconds
6. you now need some sparks from the bonfire… you can either wait for someone to blow at the fire, or move a log…. but you probably won’t be satisfied waiting for the sparks… it’ll be easier if you ask someone to beat the log for you! … watch the sparks fly…
7. now point the camera at the flying sparks… you should also try not pointing the lens directly at the fire.. the fire will probably distract the attention from the sparks in the finished photo (there is no strict rule however)…
8. make sure your hands are steady… a little wobble won’t hurt though.. in fact, hand wobbles help you create some abstract looking photos… anyway, if you want it real steady, use a camera stand… or use that seat as a stand…
9. now shoot the sparks… make sure you don’t run away as soon as you click the button.!.. you have to be steady for 2 seconds… that’s what shutter speed is all about…
10. now’s the time to admire the amazing photo you just took!
11. experiment with higher and lower shutter speeds… also try the Av mode… experiment with hand wobbles… you might also want to capture some firedance! yeah, the ones where the dancer jumps around moving a burning log all around her… also try the firedance thing with the flash turned on…
12. read your camera’s user guide during free time
